We love the movement, sounds and the scents of a kitchen. Black Steel was created to enhance them. It's made from a material that comes to life when it catches the light, and built into appliances that have been created to enable and inspire you to work wonders of your own.
Black Steel is made from stainless steel with a dark tone added to the finish. This finish lets the textural details of the steel's brushed finish stand out, as well as providing warm reflections of light and movement from the room. It's a beautiful, distinctive look – one that manages to catch the eye, and blend in perfectly at the same time.

A LONG-LASTING TRADITION
When we build our appliances, we draw on a long-standing tradition of Scandinavian innovation – one that's characterised by a rational approach to solving problems coupled with care, craftsmanship and dedication. And sometimes, we find our inspiration in unusual places. In the Craft range, where Black Steel can be found, inspiration came in the form of an adjustable wrench.
One of the most recognizable types of adjustable wrench was patented by a Swedish inventor in 1892 and still goes by the name of "The Swedish key" in some countries. It's a tough, simple tool, made from three pieces of metal. But it's the kind of tool that you can easily come to think of as a trusty companion. It fulfils a purpose extremely well, in a way that hasn't changed for decades. It has a distinctive aesthetic, in the form of its instantly-recognisable outline. It's simple, robust, difficult to break, and the definition of long-lasting.
Look at one of our Craft ovens, and you'll see something similar. A perfectly-shaped front plate, made from one piece of metal. A tough, ergonomically-shaped handle, and two solid metal dials. These pieces of metal are all fitted together perfectly to create something that looks great, works really well and lasts for ages. Sous Vide cooking of vacuum-sealed food requires that the temperature be kept steady throughout the whole cooking process – something which our Craft Combi Steam ovens are more than capable of, along with a steady flow of steam. Auto Roast is an automatic heating cycle that has been designed to roast meat to perfection. The meat is first sealed at high temperatures, using hot air and the top heating element, then cooked slowly and evenly at a lower pre-set temperature. The end result is utterly mouth-watering.

It's this which led us to create our Black Steel wine chiller with a convertible freezer/chiller compartment, perfect for when you need extra space food or other drinks – like when you’re entertaining.
CARE FOR THE WINE
Different bottles of wine require storage at different temperatures in order to let them reach absolute perfection. ASKO wine coolers let you set the temperature precisely, depending on the type and character of the wine – meaning that it's always going to taste as good as you remember.
FRESHER FOR LONGER
Humidity control in our refrigerators helps balance the atmosphere inside with the amount and type of food they're filled with – adjusting the environment so that every ingredient stays fresh and delicious for longer.

One great thing about food and drink is the opportunity it gives you to enjoy good company. One bad thing about this is the subsequent washing up. Luckily, our dishwashers have room for the amount of dishes produced by up to 17 people – or, nearly 200 items.

There's no need to waste water in rinsing your dishes off before putting them in one of our dishwashers. Our Super Cleaning System™ rinses the dishes and then starts washing them with a clean filter, a clean interior and absolutely clean water.
QUICK AND EFFICIENT
Turbo Combi Drying ™ is the name we give to our fan-assisted drying system that opens the dishwasher door automatically to shorten the program time, meaning that that your dishes are clean, dry and ready to be put back far more quickly.
